Non-surgical facial rejuvenation
There are now many options for improving facial appearance without undergoing surgery. Non-surgical methods are very popular due to many advantages such as avoidance of incisions, fast recovery and convenience.
With wide-spread advertising on the internet/social media and even unlicensed practitioners, patients can find it hard to determine which are legitimate treatments. Patients also need to understand which are most appropriate for themselves in the context of effectiveness, downtime, side effects and costs.
It is important to consult a qualified and experienced practitioner who can combine the practical and aesthetic demands of such treatment while maximising safety. Below are common procedures done in our clinic by our MOH-accredited plastic surgeons:

Breast Reconstruction
With advances in breast cancer treatment, the prognosis for breast cancer has improved dramatically over the years. For example, the 5-year relative survival rate for localised breast cancer is now 99% and even when there is spread to nearby lymph nodes, the relative breast cancer survival rate is 86%1. The focus has thus shifted to restoring a high quality of life and enabling patients to resume the work and activities they previously enjoyed without hindrance.
Breast reconstruction is thus an integral part of the treatment of breast cancer. It is a medical procedure in itself and not a cosmetic procedure — nor is it about vanity. It has been shown to improve the patients’ quality of life by restoring the sense of self and body image. It does not hinder the treatment of the cancer or hide any recurrences. In fact, breast reconstruction aims to help in the total recovery of the breast cancer patient through physical and mental rehabilitation.

Facial Nerve Disorders
The facial nerve is the 7th cranial nerve and is the one which controls movement of the muscles of the face. It is divided into five main branches. These are responsible for important facial functions such as lifting of the eyebrows, eye closure and smiling. Paralysis results in severe impairment of the function and appearance of the face. Patients have symptoms such as dry eyes, drooling and inability to smile. In addition, taste sensation to the front of the tongue and tear production can be affected.
We provide sub-specialised care to treat facial nerve conditions in adults and children. Dr Wong has undergone intensive fellowship training in this area. The field of facial paralysis is very wide and every patient’s condition is different. The treatment plan thus needs to be individualised to suit your specific needs.
